  • In all of the Fasts (Great Lent, Apostles' Fast, Dormition Fast and Nativity Fast)
  • From the Nativity of Christ (December 25) through the Synaxis of the Baptist (January 7)
  • During the course of Cheesefare Week (from Sunday of Meatfare through the Sunday of Cheesefare)
  • During the course of Bright Week
  • On the Day and the Eve of the Beheading of the Baptist (August 29) and the Elevation of the Cross (September 14)

  • The Saturday of Meatfare
  • The Second, Third and Fourth Saturdays of Great Lent
  • The Tuesday after Saint Thomas Sunday (Day of Rejoicing, Radonitsa)
  • The Saturday before Pentecost
  • On the Feast of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist, those who gave their lives in battle are commemorated
  • Saint Demetrius Saturday (the Saturday before Saint Demetrius Day -- October 21 this year)
  • On the 9th and 40th day of death, as well as on the yearly anniversary of death
